Goodbye Twinkie

Catch me on Monday, taking a few days off from blogging. I’m sad, my 16 year old cat passed away today, she was such a good cat, so beautiful. I take comfort with this being the same month that my brother Mikey passed away. That would make him laugh, he loved animals just as much as me. I still think he is laughing in Heaven that I named my 1 year old cat after him.

So let me tell you how I met Twinkie…..15 1/2 years ago I went down to the pound to get a kitten due to my 21 year old cat passing away. I wanted my other cat to have a companion. Anyways, I have always had cats, but never had one come to me as a  kitten. So here I was at the pound not really feeling any type of connection with any of the kittens, so  I picked out the most energenic one. As I stood in line to adopt the little guy, I heard cries start to come from the adult cat room. I was standing in line for just a few minutes and guilt started to wash over me, I knew those cries were for me.  SIGH, well I turned and took the little kitten back to it’s cage and I started to walk to the adult cat room. The adult cat’s cries stopped as  I pushed open the door, and there she was about 3 cages down. I walked forward til I was standing in front of her cage, she looked at me and meowed, I said..LET’S GO HOME!
