12/31/14 We renewed our vows on our 5 year wedding anniversary in Montreal, couldn’t squeeze Paris in over a weekend, one of our honeymoon stops.  I hope to wear my gown  a 3rd time at our 50th, you never know!! And  I will still fit into my gown. I am a strong mama and I will be a strong grandma, lol, if our Lord allows!!

December 2004  I was always within my healthy weight range for my age, but with being pregnant I started to gain the weight you put on during pregnancy. This photo above is me, December 2004. I was at a weight I have never been at in my life.   Two weeks before my due date in August, I opened my eyes, everything straight was round. I was told I had retinal lesions, the Doctor couldn't tell me I wouldn't lose my sight.   I worked out right up until the day I found out about my lesions. I didn't put on more than 20 - 30lbs being pregnant, I exercised and ate right for my child growing inside me. Well that day changed everything with my workout routine.  I was scared, getting laser after laser trying to save my center site in my left eye before I went into labor. After the first laser, I opened my eyes only to see a world like a kaleidoscope. The Doctor stopped my lesion right up on my macula, but the labor of me pushing took my macula, I lost my center sight in my left eye.  Don't worry, sigh, I still have my peripheral in my left eye and I have full vision in my right eye. With a new born and not knowing if I would wake with more lesions, I didn't do much as for activity. I was tired with a new baby and was eating whatever was around. By Christmas of that year, 4 1/2 months later, I gained at least another 10lbs after my pregnancy from sitting around.  Well this is the photo that I was like OMG, I need to lose weight!! I had to get back into taking care of my body, I had a child to worry about. If I lose my sight, I don't want to be out of shape too. So with 30 - 40 minutes of walking every day, by my son's first birthday I had the weight off.  So I know what it is like to have to lose fat, that is what I was carrying. So flip on over to my Photos page, and you will see, with commitment, and yes, splurge days too, you can become healthier and happier about your body. Oh, and the brown hair, well I didn't feel like being blonde during pregnancy  Foot in mouth Blonde, Brunette? all the same when it comes to having fun!
