Slow Cooker Seasoned Split Pea Soup, perfect to make on a hot sunny day!

Ingredients


2 - 16 oz green split peas, I always buy organic bulk
2 large red onions, chopped
1 large bunch celery, chopped
4 Tbsp garlic, chopped
3 Tbsp parsley
1 Tbsp tumeric
1 Tbsp thyme
1 Tbsp basil
2 tsp pepper
12 cups homemade chicken broth
Plain Greek nonfat yogurt, optional




Recipe Mix


Olive oil spray your slow cooker and set temp to high, prep all ingredients. Place all ingredients into your slow cooker in order listed, mix well, then place lid on top. Set temp to low and cook 10 - 12 hours, depending on how cooked you like the beans to be. Serve with a dollop of yogurt. DELICIOUS!
